Need a Radiator for my 1985 300D W124
Hello all,
Wondering if someone may know or maybe someone has had the exact same problem? I have a 1985 Euro non turbo 6 cylinder 300D with a W124 chassis. I am in need of a radiator. Problem is.....that it's not the same as a "normal" W124 300D or 300E with the inlet and outlet hose connections coming off of the same side of the radiator (driver's side). My radiator has the inlet hose on the driver's side top and the outlet on the passenger's side bottom of the radiator. Wondering if anyone could help with a part number for this particular unit, or recommend a place to purchase? I've tried ordering a radiator, but everyone is having trouble. If I order for a 1985 300D, I get one made for a W123 chassis. If I order for a 1986 300D W124 chassis, I get the one with the wrong hose connections for a 300E. My part supplier needs a part number. Unfortunately, there is not one on my old radiator! Maybe someone has a parts manual and can look this up for me? If anyone can provide some help........I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!! ![]() |

Have you tried entering your VIN in to the Online EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog)?
You have to have an account, but it's free. Although you do have to provide a credit card number to verify your ID, but you won't be charged. http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/welcome.jsp

Not sure I follow you. My upper radiator hose on my '87 300D is on the driver side and my lower one is on the passenger side. We are talking U.S. driver side etc., right?

The "normal" 300d matches your description of the inlets, it should be what you want. There was no 86 300d so that's probably why you end up with 300e parts with inlets on one side. Try 87 or 90. I'm seeing 1245003103 for an 87 radiator.
Some pics would help, in case there's some other difference. |
