I switched to synthetic power steering fluid and now the return line on my car is slowly weeping.

Almost all 124 cars I see have worn PS hoses...one of mine was weeping so I replaced both. NO more leaks!

As another user said, just use the MB stuff.

MB doesn't recommend the same "stuff" for all models.

Why not just use the "stuff" that MB recommends?

I believe all MBs from mid 2000s on up uses synthetic Pentosin CHF 11s or equivalent (Mb p/n BQ 1320001) power steering fluid.

Older models with rack-and-pinion steering gear and older models equipped with re-circulating ball steering gear box use MB power steering fluid MB p/n BQ 1460001 (typical power steering fluid) or Dexron III ATF.
