Injector nozzle swap...

I'm the proud new owner of an 81 300td, very exciting!
A few weeks ago I took advantage of a sale that Elsbett was having and picked up one of their single tank kits for half price. After unpacking it, I realized that it is in no way worth the 1050 bucks it retails for, a number of the components are pretty budget and I'm going to upgrade some of it. I do want to replace my fuel injector nozzles with the Elsbett ones though and I'm wondering about how wise it would be to do this myself. I went through the diesel giant tutorial on this and he made it seem easy but I'm worried about causing engine damage if I screw it up. My initial thought is to try and get another set of injectors, clean them up and install the new nozzles in those so that if I end up with a problem I can put the old ones back in. Do they need to be pressure tested with new nozzles and the shims adjusted? Should I give this job to a pro?
Any thoughts are appreciated....
