Tried changing my motor mounts today...
I got the passenger one almost out, however the inside bolt accessed from the top was rounded (by PO??) I tried everything I could think of to get it out,(SAE allen socket, torx socket) but there is just not enough good access room.
It seems the only logical next course of action would be to remove the turbo unit so I can get some "down" force on that bolt. Suggestions welcome. BTW: I ended up bolting the motor mount back up so I can drive it till next weekend. Also, I replaced the O-rings on my blow by drain, hopefully that is one leak fixed. (fingers crossed)

Weld another nut to it.

Normally the Right hand side mount is good, the left one fails from fuel leaks. I would replace the left & worry about the right when you are doing other work on that side.
Welding a new nut on it is a good idea, dont matter if you burn the mount as it is being replaced.

Actually, both mounts looked to be in good shape. I am just tracking down my idle shake, and I know that neither has been in changed in the 10 years of my ownership.
I'll get it out when I do the turbo drain gasket, drain pipe grommet thing the next time wifey is out all weekend. ![]()
