'99 e300 trunk wont open
key wont open it, and also the trunk unlock buttom inside wont open it please help, it must be stuck in valet mode?
the key opens and closes doors and all the electronics work |

Mine gets stuck tight sometimes after I wash the car. I just unlock all of the doors then go back and physically push the button in while pulling up on the ridge above the license plate.

i do that aswell, thats the only way i can unlock it is to take a physical key and play with it

You can adjust the lock to make sure it work properlly by unscrewing and moving it from the door and the chassis too.
Have you try it?

Will the physical key work? If so, you have a vacuum leak.

yes, the physical key works, but the button which is inside and remote key wont open it

I'd tend to agree that you have some kind of vacuum problem. You should start by tracing the pipe through the car, perhaps it's leaking, or loose.

You realize that with the doors unlocked, you can press the whole lock assembly inward with your fingers and no key in the lock, right? It depresses into the trunk lid about an inch.
From your response, I was not sure you understood what I was telling you.
