bowden cable and vac modulator function
Fixing vac lines, fixed one at the vac modulator to the trans (on the ip pump) trans hard shifting now, worse when cold. Is this a vac modulator adjustment, lack of function (no vac) to much function( too much vac) or a bowden adjustment?

Too much vac can give a sluggish soft/flaring shift...
No vac and it'll slam into gear if driven 'softly'.... It should have around 8-10 ins Hg at idle sent to the trans.... Bowden cable alters the point the shift occurs, Vac controls its 'severity'

You have probably seen it, but I wanted to post this again. It is one of THE definitive threads on trannys and is invaluable.

If your shift points are too low the trans will shift hard. If you don't have enough vac the trans will shift hard. Your modulator could be bad. Pull vac on it with a mity vac. You should be able to pull vac on it with a few pumps, but it will bleed down pretty quickly. If you can't even pull vac on it, then it's toast.
It's common for these trans to shift worse when cold than warm. Thats usually a sign of a trans thats getting a little tired. But that doesn't mean theres nothing you can do. There are potential vac leaks to address, bowden cable adjustments, modulator adjustments, filter and fluid change, B2 piston replacement, K1 spring replacement, and/or a bottle of your favorite mystery trans cure-all(example is Trans-X). Sometimes after you fix vac leaks the modulator needs to be adjusted slightly.

found the problem, line had come off the vac transducer / amplifier. Simple enough problem, hard enough to locate.
There is a 90° rubber connector on the side of the modulator that is cracked, line goes to the trans. It appears to be non replaceable. Is this right or can it be replaced? I made a temp fix with some shrink tube but want it replaced.

I have that 90 degree piece too, but can't find a part number for it. That may just be a means of keeping the line from flopping about, as the modulator simply has an orifice to receive a regular connector.
