injector compatibility?

will an injector from a 4 banger N.A. work properly in the motor of a 82 300sd? om617 i guess it is?

the injector fits, but that of course doesn't mean it works properly in the other application.

Given that you are running on WVO, the motor will soon be a mess any way so the injector will be the least of your worries. It will work, how well, it doesnt matter.

This is a re-occurring question.

The N.A. Engines have Injectors that are set at a lower opening/pop pressure than the Turbo Engines.

I believe the Turbo Engines have a higher opening/pop pressure because they have to Inject Fuel into higher compressed/dense Air in the Cylinders.

Other than the opening/pop pressure the Injectors are the same.

Injectors stamped with a particular bar setting can still be shimmed and adjusted up or down. If the screw fits, wear it. Shim to your liking.

Well that was helpful.

The only difference between the NA injectors and the turbo injectors is the pop pressure. The NA injectors are set to 115bar and the turbo injectors to 135bar. You can reshim the NA injectors to bring them up to 135bar.

The 'fits' are the same. Pop pressures are not for n.a. vs turbo. ALSO don't mix different nozzle designs in the same engine.
