I use these.http://www.astoria2000.com/fb3000info.html
I trim to the middle ring on the large end, and the small ring on the small end.

keep in mind you need the flexx expander gun to install the boots... or serious patience and some grease, and a funnel/bottle... to get the boot over the cans...

At least one member has said not to trim the Boot until it has been stretched over the Axel. He said he thought that the Boot riped because it had been trimmed before it was stretched.
I do not recall what method he used to stretch them over the Axle.

I was trying to re-boot my axles with the smaller size Flexx boots and I clipped them before getting them in. Mistake #1 was to get the smaller size for the 300SD, it took the SUV sized boots. Mistake #2, clipping the boot before installing it, that took away anything I could grab the boot from, and all that grease doesn't make things any easier. I learned from that that it's a good idea to research exactly what size your axles will require and also to trim the boots AFTER they're in the axle.
BTW, I think I saw someone in the Philippines or something re-booting his axles by tapping away one of the cans...
