1998 or 1999 E300D Turbodiesel options questions

Could someone tell me if a 1998 and 1999 E300D Turbodiesel has headlight wipers that the vehicle will also have Xenon lights? A while back I saw a dealer sticker that had a 1998 model with option 147 and it came with the headlight washer, xenon lights, rain sensor and electronic stability control.

However I was looking at one selling online and it had the headlight washers but the owner said that it did not have Xenon lights. Could this be true did these options also come separately?

Also what was the difference with the "multicontour seats" compared to either the leather or the other seats with partial leather.

My back is shot, I need a four level artificial disc replacement surgery and so I really look for the best seats available.

Thanks for any input.

i dont know too much about the headlights but i can say is that these seats are hard as a rock...and im not even sure that i would call it '"leather". i hate them. i went from a volvo 850 to a 99 e300td and im really missing my 850.

it does have the electronic stability and it seems to work pretty good. it'll detect any slip small or large and automatically adjust the throttle and brakes to stop the slip. alot of times i wish i could completely shut the program off so have more control over the car.

oh and one more thing..if you live in california ..you might want to consider gettting a 98 because you have the smog the 99, whereas no smog on the 98.

Buddy of mine brought his '98 E300 over for an oil change a year ago in trade for some computer work I needed. His had the outlines of a compartment under the main headlamps that my '99 doesn't, and would indicate some sort of headlamp cleaning system. His interior had the optional leather door panels - real fancy. Didn't notice the type of headlamps nor question him about the washers. A doctor in Chicago gave it to his daughter. It only had 80K miles on it, but it was a maintenance and appearance POS. What a piece of used and abused piece of crap that '98 E300 had endured in Chicago!

Hope this helps....

I love the seats, but the seat bottoms are hard on my not too boney azz. - Even though I put seat covers on 'em. The seatcovers do pad my azz somewhat. The car really has less than the over the road capability for seat-azz comfort that my '83 300SD had.

Many UK-spec W210s have the headlamp washer system (no wipers, just a jet), but I've never seen any with Xenon lamps.

I didnt think xenon lamps were about 12 years ago. All the 210's around here of that era had halogen globes.
