possible b2 piston problem? HELP!!

I could really use some help before I spend a small fortune on a new tranny.
I posted this before but got no response.
My 1982 300d turbo is slipping only in first gear, catches, then shifts with no problem thru the rest of the gears.
I had a new filter, fluid & modulator done about 1000mi ago, then this problem started, my MB mechanic has decided to close up shop after 40yrs, so I can't take it back for a look see.
Does this sound like it could be the b2 piston?
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I go the new tranny route.

Thank you for your time TX,
It imediately goes into gear when i put it in drive, its when i go to accelerate from a stand still that it slips, it moves, but revs and is slipping, then it catches (shifts into 2nd), and shifts normally the rest of the way.

only simptoms were the normal jolt between 2nd & 3rd
