how do i get better gas milage in a 300d-t
Hey Klatta Klatta Gang
I have a 85 300d-t getting 21 mpg presently. Had my valves done by a reputable shop a month ago. I have good tires on O'le Betsy. What are somesome of the things that I should look into? If you could list a couple of ideas I would appreciate it! Live long & Prosper

What kind of driving do you do? City, highway, mix?

Welcome to the club. My '84 gets between 22-25, which is disappointing when I read so much about "28-30" before I bought the car. New filters, adjust valves, you name it, my car is in great running shape, but the mpg isn't there. People might also say its your driving style, but my previous car was an old VW Jetta non-turbo diesel, so I'm not exactly in the habit of racing anyone. Oh well, its a nice car, so I'll keep it anyway.

Run some Redline diesel additive thru that beast, change your air filter, keep the valves adjusted, regular oil changes.. and you will be getting about the best you can out of her.. I always have my foot on the floor so I get poor mileage as well... I see you are from NY.. come to the diesel meet on the 19th.. check out the thread.
