W-123 Wagon Rear Side Doors ?
Are they all the same from '77 ~ '85 or what ? .
The right rear window stopped going up all the way , and I hear a clicking noise as the glass jumps a little bit whilst 20 MM or so open.... I've found a few W-123's here & there I can buy the entire door for $25.00 , my preferred way to go as who knows what I'll find inside , I like to have all the possible parts & hardware etc. on hand before beginning , then I'll just give away the extra door when it's finished . So , I know there are die hard wagon buffs here who'll prolly know ~ I already discovered W-123 Coupes have early & late differences , what I'd like to do here is gut the spare door for the lift & motor as needed . Is the window lift the same as Sedans ? or Wagon specific . TIA ,

I know the whole doors for wagons are wagon specific, a sedan door will not fit, not sure about the guts though

the clicking is your regulator gear teeth worn or correctly shot.

THANX !
I guess it's good I didn't buy that 1980 300TD door for my Euro '84/'85 then....
Maybe I'll just wait until it gets back from the paint shop and I can open it up and take notes....

Wagon front doors are the same as sedan doors. Wagon rear doors are wagon specific. There are several different window regulators, and they may or may not interchange-able. If you swap the whole unit- from one door to another- as long as it on the same side of the car, then it ought to be fine. Swapping just parts may be less successful. The first wagons were MY 1979- so there were no '77-'78 wagons.

Just replaced the the right rear regulator yesterday. The part came from a same year wagon. It was the same.
