w124 AC
I purchased my 1993 300d 2.5 a couple months ago. one of the reasons I chose that car is because the AC worked! Of course, now that I own it the AC stopped working. I have jumped sockets 5&7 at the KLIMA and jumped the wires going to the pressure switch to no avail. The compressor clutch is oily and hasn't been cleaned yet. Any advice on where to check now?
Thanks all! |

If you haven't already put +12V to the compressor directly, try that.
Next do a resistance check of the pull in coil, if coil is shorted or open, it will not pull in the clutch. Mike the air gap between the clutch plate and the pulley. If gap is to wide, coil cannot pull in the clutch. Jim

Stupid question
Sorry for the stupid question. I am doing some apartment parking lot mechanicing so I have to be stealthy:
Is there a plug on the compressor to apply 12 v to? All I have seen is the wire on the back (which I Beleive is the speed sensor). Thanks so much! |
