glow plug light

I have a 1977 300D Mercedes Benz and I just put in new glow plugs and now the glow light won't come on.
It came on before I changed the plugs. and now it will not start.

I took out the pencil type glow plugs and put LOOP type plugs in.

What should I do?

Your LOOP glow plugs won't work with a pencil type setup, your best bet is to get the pencil types, they are better, otherwise you'll have to undo the modification.

did you hook up the thick resistance wires between the GP's. Did you conect the ground wire up to the #1 GP?

I recommend you just replace the pencil plugs with pencil plugs, they are MUCH better than the loop plugs.

You do know that the loop plugs have different wires between the plugs, correct? They have the thick buss resistor wires, and use the ceramic bushings...

Check the fuse on the firewall?

If you hook up the loop plugs correctly you will have the GP light.

The loop plugs use totally different wires. look at the pics in this little DIY guide: http://dieselgiant.com/mercedesdieselloopglowplugrepair.htm
