My 95 caprice wagon was the next best thing to 4wd with about 400# more on the rear than the front and that beautiful locking diff.

Convertibles are still heavier than their closed counteparts in about every case.

Glad you enjoy it, that's a car I would have loved to have had. I'd like to see it again one day if you're ever around Orlando.
I live in Umatilla about 1 hour north of Orlando you are welcome to come up and see it anytime you would like. I will be back late Monday night.

I googled your B&B and it looks to have good GTG material.

Perhaps we could get all 4 of my cars sold in central Florida together when the time comes?

You guys are making me blush. Jimmy is the one who deserves the credit with this car. All I did was strip it down, drive down and back from the paint shop, and put it back together.

That is a beautiful machine. I love my E300D to bits, but someday soon I really, really want a 123 wagon as the beater/stuff hauler car. Capacity and ground clearance like a small SUV with only slightly less off-road capability, but fuel efficiency and highway handling like a car.
Tune the W124 for power and high-speed handling, and equip the S123 for messy cargo and substandard roads.

Man, I love Mercedes diesels. ^_^

The oil pans are so low on these you really have to be careful "off road", or on bad roads.
That wagon always set up high, and with the new larger tires I put on it it really had good clearance. But I always knew that oil pan was only "so" high.......

This wasn't a sale for profit. The goal was to get the '95 E300 as cheaply as possible by selling the other two I traded Jimmy for a 2005 Acura. With the transmission puking on the E300 I need it.

It all works out anyway. China is soon to be destined for central Florida as well.

He certainly does! The paint job looks great!
Sadly, some of his profits will be eaten up on the '95 tranny.......

That is certainly a first for that wagon, at least since 2005. It doesn't have the hottest heater. I was going to change the thermostat but it was something I never got around to.

I replaced the coolant thermostat and that brought the heater back to smoldering.

That's what a skid plate is for.
