1992 300d 2.5 value

This car has 178k on it. Seems to be in pretty good shape.

I don't understand why a diesel would have much more value than a gasser. Let's face it a well maintained gasser will give at least 250k....

Since it's a 124, won't all of the other issues exist by that mileage? a/c, transmission, rubber, suspension, etc

What is a car like this worth?????

It's worth about $2500 in good condition (all features working), maybe $5000 in top-top condition, all good tires, windshield, interior perfect, zero rust.

It's worth more than a gasser because it's more desirable so some people. Whether it's for the reliability and simplicity, for its ability to run alternate fuels, because people want a diesel Mercedes, I don't really know.

Personally, the only reason that I have diesels is because of the mechanical durability of the engine. If I had to choose between your '95 E320 and a '92 300D? Hard choice since the '95 is more refined inside and out, nicer looking IMO, 120hp more power, fuel mileage almost as good, ... but the 300D is a diesel!

I loved driving my E320s, but sold them and kept the diesels, can't explain why.

I don't think I can ask for a better explanation than that....
