Plagued by erratic glow controller

Ok, about a year ago I ran into some difficulty with the glow controller. All of a sudden, without warning, the glow controller would decide not to work at all. I thought I had it resolved, cleaned barrel connectors, checked plug resistance etc. For a long time it seemed like everything was fine.

A week ago this temperamental controller started doing this same thing again, it had been working fine for about a year but decided that it wasn't going to work any more. I checked plug resistance, it was fine. I then proceeded to clean the barrel connectors again and it seemed fine for a while but then in the last two days it has quit again twice.

The odd thing is that if I remove the controller from the case it does not fail to work properly, as it did tonight. I've checked for obstructions in the case and there just isn't anything that would prevent the mechanism from moving.

So again, I'm back to seeking advice for this thing, there's nothing worse then to walk out to the car and find that you have no glow. As a side, three of the GP's are new, the other three appear to be fine and resistance is very low.

Thanks guys

Steve A

Ok, ground wire cleaned a while back, went to start the car today after working on belt tensioner and the glow controller failed to energize the plugs, pulling the unit from the case made it work....again. This is making me very angry...:-(
