Gasser fuel tank into a Diesel car?

I have heard about issues with the lining of a gas tank so that it cannot be used in a Diesel application. My 300SE has a gas tank in it that I am thinking of swapping into my new 300SD. Someone ran SVO in the 300SD and the tank looks pretty nasty. Since I have a parts car, I might as well use it.

Is the tank lining going to be an issue or do I have it confused with some other type of application?

Thanks!

You won't have any issues. I'm using the stock tank in my 380SL with the 617 diesel. I've also used gas tanks in other diesel conversions too in the past. The only thing you'll want to do is use a diesel tank strainer instead of the gas one. They are dramatically different mesh.

Thanks! Good to note the fuel strainer differences.

I just pulled the strainer out of my new 97 C280 ( gas ) tht was sitting for 3 years. Good thing I did as the screen was tearing from the support.

Also, the aluminum nut has " benzine " on it.
