Engine swap question re: engine shocks

Can I swap an upper oil pan from a N/A engine to Turbo engine? 617.??? to 617.952? (My FSM shows no 300TD prior to 1981)

The engine shocks on the 1980 NA motor have their own cross member that bolts to the upper oil pan and the shocks bolt to the chassis. (As opposed to the shocks mounting on the engine "Arms" and the chassis.) The turbo motor that's going in this non-turbo chassis does not have the appropriate holes in the oil pan to bolt this shock-holding cross-member.

So, in order to have engine shocks, I either need to swap the oil pan or weld on some lower mounts and use the turbo motor's "arms."

There is another set of holes behind the main chassis cross-member that look like shock mount holes but I don't know what engine mount "arms" have a mount hole that would line up.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

I don't think the N/A upper oil pan will fit because of the chain driven oil pump on the turbo and (possibly?) the turbo oil drain.

It looks like you're welding... if you do will you post pictures?

Leave the shocks out.....I do, no problems so far...besides, didn't Iaccoca say...."What ain't there needs no warranty, no servicing and no fixing."

IIRC he also said "We've got to pause and ask ourselves: How much clean air do we need?"

and, Oh yeah.....turbo drain and breather not on the N/A pan.

That figures...
Yes, Army, I'll be taking pictures as I figure this out

I'm going to need a driver side "Arm" from the block to the engine mount if anyone has a spare laying around.

Thanks for the help!
