Best PNP find?

Mine was a climate control unit rebuilt by ProgRama in 2007 for $12.
Otherwise, things were pretty picked over for the 126 in my area.

617 300D engine and pulling fee - $150.00 USD. < 180K Miles on the clock. Lots of gizmo boxes and sundry parts. Some other yahoo had already yanked the dash. I shoulda got the tranny and rear axle but I ran outta working capital.

Oh, managed to get a pristine blower motor for $10 bux from the same car.

1, the 97K mile 617 engine from a 84 300D

2, The 2 new rear Annular axles I found, one in Portland, Or under a rusted out 240D for $25, the second one I paid around $35, but was in a Calif yard.

3, The AL-129-X Bosch 115amp alternator I found in a Saab, had just been replaced.

4, The free W123 bumper. they over looked it and didn`t charge me. didn`t notice it until I was 1/2 way home while looking over the reciept.

5, Another freebee, last thursday. I pulled a 5 spd trans, the shifter, 5 door actuators, chrome vent cowels, Instrument cluster, and a Differential.
I get home and notice they didn`t charge for the Differential.

What are the odds of finding two Euro W123s in the same Pick-N-Pull?

I got a compete set of front & rear Euro wagon bumpers off an '84 230TE, with all brackets, boots, skirts, and rear lights (Backup & fog) for $100, to someday put my '84 Euro TD back to original. It has US bumpers now.

Found the correct non-turbo speerometer from a Euro '84 300D, to replace the incorrect turbo unit a PO installed in my non-turbo wagon.
And I snagged the OE under-seat fire-extinguisher bracket. (Too bad the extinguisher was missing!)

Also was able to resell the rear bumper boots and antilock pump & computer from the same Euro 300D, at a slight profit, to recoup some of my purchase costs.

Best deal was a complete W123 manual 240D heat-AC unit, with controls and blower, for $12 on half-price day. And someone had already pulled the dash and unbolted the unit, so all I needed to do was disconnect a few wires and carry it out!

Happy Motoring, Mark

Well, I checked out the Virginia Beach PNP today and found a Euro '84 (I think) 240D. Car had been federlised with 5-mile bumpers, US headlights, add-on door impact-beams.
The bad news - It was automatic, the timing chain had snapped, punching a hole through the valve cover, and someone else had already grabbed the trunk-triangle.
I did get the passenger door mirror, one power door-lock pod, both left side door moldings, and (good news) the trunk-triangle clip!

Happy Motoring, Mark

I like those wheels. Just looked em up on ebay for fun. Someone's selling
a set for 1500!

I'll have to poke around the PNP wheels next time.
