I cannot see why it will not work with manual trans cars. For example the BMW kit fits both auto and manual cars... how do I know? I have one on each now. :D

Sure is tempting......

Very interesting, where did you find the picture and info?

Here is a thread I added some info to about a Sanden compressor and brackets I found on a Euro 617.

Right, your car with factory AC came with a radiator sized to handle the load. A base car with no factory AC might have a smaller rad. I'd need to check the EPC to confirm.

I was just saying that it does not have the problem of the oil cooler lines ( or auto trans cooler lines either ) sticking out to the rear on the same side of the engine compartment the AC compressor is on...

If someone else has done the fitting and mock up for this I just might get inspired to fix my AC.... I know from past projects how much putting it together and taking it back apart this kind of work takes to get it correct...

My 84 240 5Speed has a sanden a/c kit in it... as does my 85 TD euro...

Would you mind taking those off and sending them to me so I can make a pattern ?
I will pay for shipping ... Both ways....
LOL

I am actually considering just this.
my 85 is becoming a parts car, so I will take the mounts to a local machine shop and get brackets duplicated...
how's that?

John, does your bracket mount like this one I have? It only uses 2 of the mount holes on the side, but has 2 drilled holes in the front under the vacuum pump. the 617.952 does not have the front drilled holes.

What happened to that end of month/ house project delay ? We need this fast... we are melting at 104, 105 , huge humidity... not even our hot time of the year yet....

panZZer 06-23-2011 04:28 PM

Larry Bible told me the brackets are avalable--You just gotta poke around on the net a little to find them, Any GOOD hose outfit can make what you need--A GOOD outfit will not try to sell you BS hose when you have to have BARRIER hose for r134.
Also I have just noticed Sabb selden compressers-looks just like sandens but have a double v belt pullys on front.

Charlie

So this kit is useless for the US spec '85Ds. Anyway around it? Wish i read this post before i pulled one from a '85 euro 300D at the junkyard.

charmalu 07-08-2011 09:24 PM

The one you pulled, is it like the picture I posted above in post#24?
