98 E300 Turn Signal Issue...

Hello , I am new to this forum , but not new to forums , i have an issue with my 98 E300DT .. when the car sits for a long period of time , when i start the car .. the left turn signal comes on and will NOT turn off until the car starts to cool on the inside....can anyone help me figure this out ? .. thank you in advance for the help.
