A/C runs full hot

No matter the settings all I get is very hot air out of the side vents, nothing out of the center vents. The compressor kicks in when I select A/C. I checked the duo/monovalve.the one that lives in front of the battery on the passenger side...........when jumped I do get cooler air thru the side vents.

I'm a bit stumped on this one.

WHOOP!

The 1995 E300D...I used two jumper wires direct from the battery and got cooler, but not cold air from the side vents.

I only have manuals for type one.. meaning early 1980's AC ...
I was actually asking how you checked the duo valve..
it sounds like a fault in vacuum or that valve that is allowing hot air from the heater to blow at you...can you cut off the line with a pair of vise grips to see if that makes the air less hot ?
but I am just guessing from what others have said...
someone with more knowledge of your system will speak up soon I am sure..
In the mean time ... you should read the AC sticky at the top of the page...
