1987 190D Fuse Box ?

I have a 1987 190 D NA and I need to get into the fuse box but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the plastic fuse box cover out of the way. There is a clip on the front and a wire bale on the back I have lifted both but the clear plastic cap lifts up only a little bit (tease) you can't even get your fingers in to remove a fuse.

What am I doing wrong????

It is a PITA to remove/attach the fuse cover. You need to remove the front clip and squeeze the back clip on both sides ( very little room ) to release the clip from the holes. Lift the cover and wiggle it out.
