Hi All,
Sorry if this is an old subject perhaps already addressed however I still see a bit of confusion at least for me. Bilstien shocks. I have read many posts and they mention the 2 varieties of Bilstien shocks ( Comfort or Heavy Duty(HD) ) that can be had. Well my confusion is this. As I look around on this sites fastlane.com I see that there are 3 varieties of shocks which confuse me. There are these: 1) Comfort Bilstien 2) Comfort HD Bilstien 3) HD Bilstien So when folks on this site mention that they go with the "HD" Bilstien are they talking about #2 above or #3 ? Thanks for you help!

Bump.
I'm going to be replacing mine soon, as well.

I'm only aware of two choices, comfort and hd. I always get the hd if I can but I like it firm. IMHO there is not a lot of difference between the two varieties.

You can read all about it on the Bilstein web page
Parts catalogue (I hope link works - if it does you might want to change your year / car type)

FWIW, I am happy with the HD on my SD. I'd like to get a little more body roll out but then again, it isn't my 78 Datsun Z which corners flat. Oh..I forgot...the Z isn't as comfortable on the road as the SD.

Their catalog is incorrect. The Sport they list there is actually for the 201/124.
[edit] Woah. Maybe not so much : http://www.atomic-shop.ru/part/17715-24-005289/ However the HD and the sports are identical in other years/models just different stroke.

These prices are here just as FYI but may not reflect current prices.
You see that for rear there are comfort-HD and HD and then just comforts. For the Front you see 3 types of shocks. So again I hear some say they get comforts for front and go HD in rear however I'm wondering from the 3 below which HD's are they purchasing. Everyone tells you oh their new shocks are great however since I can not clarify which ones they actually got then I don't really know much from their positive reports. Just looking for clarification so that I might make the most informed decision prior to another purchase. Bilstein Front comfort W0133-1910413 66.00 HD W0133-1910414 82.19 HD W0133-1613113 80.91 Rear comfortHD W0133-1910505 62.24 HD W0133-1612941 80.91 comfort W0133-1910715 65.38

These cars steer like boats. Less so with suspension renewed. HD all around on the SD. It still goes over speed bumps without a jar.

Do HD's and a wagon front sway bar. And If you like taking corners like a boss, cut the springs by a coil and a half...
