300SD automatic adjusting shifting speed

1983 300SD 280000 mi has soft 3d and 4th gear shifts as is not uncommon, but I think I would like it better if it shifted into 4th gear about 10 mph faster than it does. Can I adjust this? Can I make the shifts crisper at any speed?
