Leak at the injector pump,1984 190d

The number 3 injecter seems to be failing to supply fuel is my guess,Ive replaced the line 3 times. It seems now that Ive got a plugged up injector thats causing the pressurized fuel to find the weakest way out and thats at this connection .No other lines are the problem ,just this one .I know 2 things about this issue ,its not an o-ring leak ,2 ,its not that the lines are not tight enough.I did have some fuel filters clogging after finding rust in the tank.Cleaned out the tank and lines ,then replaced filters . It takes driving the car 200 miles plus then bingo back to square one ,has anyone had an injector fail like this one discribed? It will be replaced as my next step.

Swap injectors and see if the problem moves to another cylinder.

If you loosen injector lines, doe the engine shudder as much with #3 loose as any other?

Ill try that ,question on the o-rings, when I had mine go out on another 190d ,I remember that the leak came from the sides of the delivery valve out of the injector pump. This leak is coming out of the top of the line connection ,pushing pass the flarred connection of the line and valve. If the o-rings go bad will this also be were a leak can occure? I might be wrong on the o-rings as the problem .

You can deform the ball-and-socket seal of the injector lines by overtightening or wear the nut through the line with poorly clamped lines. Unfortunately the only way to know is to try a known good line.

Thanks for your input sixto ,Ive now have installed my 3rd line and its sealed again, for how long Ill report back ,I think this might be related to all the plastic clamps missing.I pick these lines up anytime Im at the yard and this being my last one Im hoping Ive solved this pesky leak .It seems when the car is idling the pressure that sent thru the line might be hard on that connection if their is no overall support along the line.Im set to make some supports out of cork from wine bottles ,then see how it goes.

Or you could get OE clips -

I'm not sure which you need fewer of in a 601.

Unfortunately Ive had to make one of the lines work by rebending it so the clips might work with 3 of the 4 but Ill still be needing the 4th line supported ,great info ,thanks for the help.
