What is the difference between the different axle lengths I have seen floating around on different parts sites? I have seen 26 1/16" and 24 13/16" Is one the homokinetic and the other the annular?

Homokenetic and Annular axles for the W123 should be the same length.

The W126 is wider, maybe that is the longer dimention?
