Finally posting something after years of lurking and learning from this awesome forum!
For any Atlanta area folks: spotted a 82-84ish 300td darker red (not orient red) that looked like a half-federalized grey market model. Someone got the engine, but there was still the 3rd seat (palomino or slightly darker...sorry for the vague descrip), roof rack crossbars (that needed a good scrubbing, but still good), manual sunroof, rear hatch some zebrano bits and a nice clean dash (with manual flap control for the center vents). It had US headlamps on it but the engine comp had the vacuum ctl for the euro city lights function and the related switch was inside (above the manual climate control cluster). Was not a manual trans and the front bumper was Federal.
I got the rear bumper and taillights for my TD as well as the blower motor. Lots of good bits in there and there is a 240D right next to it with a fair amount of interior left (speedo cluster, blower). While I'm at it, there's a 300SD on the lot (maybe more, I ran out of time) with a mostly intact engine and a lot of good parts.
