Vacuum control valve operation? 1984 300SD turbo 126
I have 21.5" Hg at the pump and after eliminating all possible leak sources from the system it came down to the VCV not being able to hold more than 15"Hg. at closed throttle. I removed the VCV and it leaks. Won't hold a vacuum.
Can anyone tell me, what are the mechanics of the valve. There is a plunger being pressed up into a device with two heavy steel rings. What is the purpose of a spring pushing on the plunger. What is on the end of the plunger? How dose this valve bleed of vacuum. I can fix most anything if i can figure how it works. Thanks Guys
