Note that some sets have a less useful 18mm instead of a more useful 19mm.

I think this is usually on the inexpensive open end combo wrenches, not true gearwrench... and they often leave out the 16 as well... I've even seen sets with 8,9,10,11,13,14,15,17,18... no 12!

I bought a set for myself. These are the ratcheting GearWrenches, and the heads tilt a range of 180 degrees. Since I bought them, for 60 off the retail, I was passing the info along to the group here.

You missed black Friday. 20pc gear wrench set for $30 or so. I got the craftsman metric 8 piece set for $20. All made in the USA.

If I had more money to burn I'd get these as well.

Watch toolguyd.com for more awesome deals.

I ordered mine at the closest store on their computer, a workaround for a store pickup but worth it. Didn't get charged sales tax either..lol..

Hmm

I prefer the ACE GearWrench, notably heavier professional grade + lifetime warranty.

Ace hardware GearWrench

Wow, never expected to hear anyone say that Ace Hardware's tools are better than Sears. Grew up with Sears Craftsman tools per my dad and still feel like they are the best. Not so?

Craftsman tools are OK quality, and handy for warranty.
If you are a professional there are some tools that must be heavier or have many spares + frequent warranty.
I am no longer sure which Craftsman tools are actually made in the USA.

The company may not survive stupid management, IMO they need to close 50% of both and study/duplicate the AMAZON.com business model...

100 to 120 Sears and Kmart stores closing

keep in mind I've heard that craftsman no longer honors the lifetime warranty on tools... it's ONCE per customer now...
I have NOT confirmed this, but it is what I have heard.

Now isn't that a perfect example of hearsay in action?
