Emergency in KS

I'm moving from NY to Cali, and my brake master cylinder decided to die just outside of Lawrence, KS. Any DIY'ers out there feel like selling me a used one and installing it for me?
Email me, ill be sleeping at the Lawrence rest stop till Monday otherwise. 1981 300D.

Come on you guys!!! A damsel in distress!!!!

If you look at the help (free advice) she has given members on here in the past, you should all be trying to help.

Some one should at least inquire as to what is wrong with the master cyl.
Hope its not a failed vac pump diaphragm leading to a booster failure. That would not stop the car though as the brakes would just be heavy.

Maybe hit some Kansas members up directly?

I did an advance search of members for Kansas and got four pages. Tried to link the search results to no avail.

Kansas is supposed to be mostly flat country.
While it is safer to stop and wait for help; I believe I would have waited until some late or very early hour and driven the Car slowly to the next Town where I could get help.

The above assumes that the Parking Brake works at all.

This thread is a good ad for one of the Auto Clubs and their free towing!

If you can get AAA to bring you down to Wichita I should be able to get someone to take care of you.

Even closer is Ron Marker in Hutchinson. Marker's European Auto service also has a large MB salvage yard. He can get you on the road cheaply.

That's better than the sugestion I was going to make.

I was going to tell her to get out of her car, face SW and yell "TYLER" at the top of her lungs.

I was wondering the same thing. Rest stops can be dangerous places. I hope she is alright.

Replacing the master cylinder is one job I could actually do far away from home in a pinch. All you need is a 50pc tool set (walmart 22$), a mity vac (fluid catching), a new MC, DOT 4, and patience.

NAPA certainly did me wonders when my MC went. The one in my hometown had it same day at no extra cost.

If you're at a rest stop, do you really have to catch the fluid??

Any word? Dieselgrrrl back on the road??
