The last time the 95 E300 was on the rack I noticed that the rear differential looked like it was 2.8:1. I am interested in trying maybe a 2.3 or 2.6:1 to attempt to lower the rpm a few hundred rpm at 80 mph. Anyone know right off the top of your heads which vehicles may have the lower ratio that would fit this application?

How would you compensate for the ABS speed mismatch?
As I recall; it reads engine, transmission, differential and left front wheel speed.
You would also loose the ASD.

hmmmmm, I did not think about that. I guess I would just not have antilock.

I'd be interested to see if I can get above 40 mpg.
