Blower inoperable?

Last year, I rebrushed the blower motor and added a 80amp bypass which seemed to do the trick ('82 300sd) in getting my A/C to function again. My blower does not work now though will when I power it directly. 80 amp fuse seems fine along with wiring - can anyone offer any ideas why I no longer have fan/blower function. CCU was fine too at the time . . . . any thoughts? Thanks! Getting warm again this weekend!

I hope you mis-typed and you have a 30 amp fuse in there. Can you swap out the CCU with a known good one?

Yes, 30 amp (I think, gulp, might have used an 80 amp as these are the same strip fuse for glow relay, yes -forgot what I used!) I have another CCU and was going to try that next . . . . thanks!

ya... I blinked when I read 80 amp... if it's got an 80 in there, and something bound up... likely the wiring is burned to a crisp...

Gotta go check now but if I remember correctly, I pulled these fuse boxes from PnP and they were the original 30amp fuses for MB versus 80 -

Sounds to me like you need to go back into the Blower Motor and inspect it and all of the Wireing connections.

I took my Blower Motor apart expecting to find worn Brushes and what I found was a corroded connection where it was crimped onto the wire going to the Brushes (I have a Siemans not a Bosch Blower Motor).

Also there is a square Box with holes in it on the Front Passanger Side Fender Well that is the Resistor for the Blower. That or the Wiring to it could have issues.
