1982 240D slow ( real slow )

Hello,

I just purchased a 240D and it is real slow of the line. Let me start by saying I am not expecting to have a race car or 1/4 mile car. I was curious and I timed my 0-60 at 36 seconds with the a/c off.

I have checked the linkage and I am hitting the stops on the IP. I did a valve adjustment and changed both fuel filters and no improvement. The car will get up to 80 miles a hour on the freeway and seems to run excellent with exception of acceleration.

Is it possible that the IP is delivering enough fuel? Clogged injectors? The car runs great but I'm going to get killed pulling out into traffic!

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you!
