The proof is in the Motor Mounts
Do not put cheap motor mounts in your diesel. I replaced my 603 engine (87' 300SDL) mounts 2 years ago with the least expensive mounts I could find because I thought they needed replacing after 250,000 miles even though it was not showing any symptoms. I do not know what brand they were except I know they weren't Lemfoerders. Over the past year the engine vibration had gotten consistently worse and I wanted to blame it on everything except the mounts because I knew I had changed them.
After reading many good forum topics here on the site I decided that I was going to change them anyways. I ordered new Lemfoerders, yes the ones with the MB label ground off and with 2 blue dots. $22 each. I could have bought $12 ones but had already done that. So I pulled the old mounts yesterday and the old new ones were totally collapsed. I put the new Lemfoerders in and it is at least a 2" difference and now purrs at idle like a kitten. We will see how the new mounts hold up but I learned a lesson well about using the least expensive aftermarket parts. Actually I did this before with a water pump. John

Where did you buy lemfoerders for $22? I want to say I paid like $67 each for mine.
