Hah! I got it! How to align the AC Compressor Pully.
I will post photos tonight if possible.
I can't believe that I hadn't thought of this earlier.

Okay folks,
Here we go. Using a laser level to align v-belt pulleys. With more light. I've found that I may need to shim the back of the A/C compressor bracket to get the shaft aligned a bit better. I know that there are better tools that are custom designed for the job, but this does better than the yardstick that I was using. The pulleys (crank/compressor/idler) are actually all in the right places, but the compressor is about 1-1.5 degrees out of alignment.

Great pics and a good idea! When I replaced my compressor (not the pully), I was only able to eyeball the alignment of the belt for setting the compressor position. Fortunately, MB idler pullys are made to "wobble" just a bit around the bearing.
