Found a disconnected hose coming out of the blue flying saucer, where does it go?
I was chasing down a vacuum leak on my 1985 300d because my engine wouldn't shut off and I found a couple of disconnected vacuum lines that I probably knocked loose while recently working on my front end and replacing my starter.
One of them is a black line coming off of the bottom of the blue flying saucer on the driver side that (I think) routes over the top of the engine and then down the firewall on the passenger side toward the transmission. This hose is still connected to the blue flying saucer but I'm not sure where and to what it should connect on the other end. I also have no idea if it recently became disconnected or has been disconnected for a while. For further clarification it looks like there are two lines that come off of the blue flying saucer. One is a clear line that is attached to the ALDA which is still intact on my car. The other is a black line that I am trying to figure out. I suspect it might go to the modulator on the transmission but am hoping someone can confirm that. Thanks as always. |

i dont know what the blue flying saucer is, as that must be a late model addition, but i will say that if the line going to the transmission was completely disconnected, it would probably shift rather poorly!
