Hello, I just bought a 1992 Mercedes 300D 2.5 Turbo a couple of months back. When I start the car and drive it there are no problems, however, after about 30 minutes of driving, when I come to a stop light, the car starts shuddering and it keeps getting worse, but at some stop lights there is no shuddering at all. I don't understand what the problem is!
I had recently embarked on a 13 hour long journey in which I had to drive through the mountains of BC and had no problems with the Benz. However, the car started lacking power and was "surging" at certain climbs in high speeds of 110KMs/hr and then after also on straight roads in the last couple of hours of the journey! (?) I am completely baffled and even my genius mechanic could not figure it out, which is rare!!
I had a diesel purge done on the vehicle, and my mechanic said the injectors are not the problem, is it the computer or something wierd like that? No lights ever came on in the dash except for a low windshield washer fluid light... and also my cruise control stopped working after the trip back, maybe it is a fuse... Any help would be much appreciated
Also is there a CD ROM repair manual available on this car? If so, where may I find one?
