I just received the new one. The end that plugs into the garbage can looks correct. The other end doesn't look the same. The current one is still intalled in the car. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove and install the new one?

FIXED! I know have a working tach. Thank you to everybody who help me troubleshoot this issue. It ended up being the crankshaft sensor or tdc. 15/16 bolt removed the bracket which holds it (bracket is in fact broken) and then I installed the new sponsor and plugged it in. Total job took half hour at most.
