using pop tester
Hi
When checking the injector pop pressure, do you use rapid strokes on the pressure tester or bring the pressure up slowly. Thanks

I would describe the proper stroke as "smooth and deliberate." Neither rapid nor slow.

If you have a Pop Tester with a valve that cuts you off from the Pressure Gauge you can cut off the Pressure gauge and pump rapidly to get the Air out. If you don't have that Valve pumping rapidly can damage the Gauge.
After the Air is out open the Valve and x2 on smooth and delibrate. Bring the pressure up like that untill it pops. You would like to see no dripping or dribbling and for the Nozzle to open suddenly and Spray a good pattern and shut off suddenly. If the Nozzles is really good you will hear a chatter or chirping type sound when the Nozzle opens. If the opening pressure is somewhere within spec bring the pressure up slowly within 200 psi below what ever the opening pressure was. If the Nozzle is exceptional it will not leak any Fuel out of the Tip. If it is average the manual has a spec of X amount of drips that is allowed pre an amount of time. If it drips more than that per amount of time the Nozzle is not a good one. If you are using the Stock Bosch Nozzles with the Drilled Pintel there is a part of the test that is in the Manual where you work the handle in short strokes to simulate an idle amount of Fuel and that Fuel is supposed to shot through the Central Hole. I don't remember the specific details as I have not looked at the specs for 4 years.
