123 series - Old Style cruise control system

anyone want to tell me about it ? how does one fix it up ? if i remember correctly, someone told me that if the "cable puller" is bad, that you need a new one then, and they almost always go bad.....is this true ?

any input is appreciated, one of these days i would like to use my CC, so its time to start figuring out how it ticks...

EDIT : and i am right that the "idle speed control knob" somehow works over this CC servo, pulling on the cable a bit to increase idle speed ? i cant see any other way it could work, unless my car has stuff missing from the linkages and cables.....
