240D Differential Plug Hex Bit Size?

My set only goes up to 10 mm, and the plug requires something larger than that. Anyone know the size so I can buy the correct hex bit?

Thanks.

You can also get a 9/16" at most hardware stores which is equivalent to 14mm. Get a piece of pipe that fits over the wrench handle to use a cheater bar. Those plugs are usually tight.

I have a set, I got it at either AZ or AAP about 10 years ago.

Mine is OEM brand, IIRC, and has a 12, 14 and 17mm part. They are 1/2" drive.

Ive always needed to use a LOT of torque to un-seize the diff plugs.

As has been mentioned before, be sure to loosen the fill plug first. If you can`t get it out and you drain the fluid........

I always add some Anti-Seiz compound to the threads before I put the plug back in.

This is a really nice tool if you can find one. It came as part of the tool kit on pontons. It is very nicely designed and I use it on all of my cars.
