Any thoughts on what this might be 95 E300D
I am thinking of trading an 86 300e for this , it cost me next to nothing and is not worth much in todays market.
"1995 E300D MERCEDES FOR SALE. The car was kept in good condition all services are up to date. everything is very good. I was driving on the freeway and the engine quit , saw the oil preasure drop and coasted over and got it towed and had a friend look at it and notice the fan/engine belt was off. Charged battery and try to turn engine and it turned but very very slow. I think is that the engine is tired , it has 400,000klm" I am thinking spun bearings caused by oil pump or drive chain failure. Possibly a broken crankshaft. Possibly partly seized due to overheating? I will only be able to get a cursory look at it but may be able to get it to crank over I may try to sample the oil to look for shiny floaters. I want to say the car is worth maybe 5-6K in running condition. I have not been able to locate an engine so far. I am kinda more interested in a dead diesel project than a running gas car.
