Sure it's not a Johnson Controls battery, like just about every other parts store battery in the country?

Oh, wow! I bought one of those at CarQuest in 2004 for my first 300SD. I paid $103 for it and everyone thought that was extravagant money for a battery. Now it seems even the junkiest and smallest of batteries are in the $100 range.

Years later I tried to get another one but couldn't find Bosch batteries and one employee at CarQuest said Bosch didn't make batteries. I couldn't find them on the internet anywhere. My current NAPA battery from 2006 or whenever is still going strong, but if I needed a battery today, I'd get one of those at that price.

My first choice, of course, would be a genuine Mercedes battery, with the Bosch being my second choice. However, if I was needing one today, I'd go with the Bosch. Too bad the timing isn't right (though I hope my current battery does not fail soon).

According to the Bosch rep I spoke to last week, it's not the same Bosch that you would get at a Bosch distributor. Good battery, no doubt, but not the same thing.
