As a lover of diesels, we all know how simple yet how finicky these little diesels can be. Long story short. Did a valve adjustment about a month ago, car went from barely starting to firing right up, running like new. Began to start like crap again, so I checked the valves quick everything seemed to be in spec. Put it all back together again, and now my upshifts go upwards of 3K. Gonna tear it apart again today. How is the throttle linkage screwing up my shifts. It was fine before I took it apart, and I didn't change anything other than removing the linkage and the valve cover......I'm a little stumped. It's a 84 300sd by the way. Such a love/hate relationship with these things
