The serious cold only lasts a short time as close to the ocean and gulf stream as we are. In the southern or central canadian maritimes.

The last day and into the weekend will probably be our average yearly cold snap. To me it is coming a little late this year. I had hoped we had missed it this year. This morning it is 0F and going up a little.

This hasn't been much of a decade for cold. It got down to -6 here early Tuesday. When that's the *high* temperature I'd say it's starting to get chilly.

It was in the 50s here (southern Wisconsin) a couple weeks ago.
