I have a 1985 300sd that has blown a couple fuses (25A) blue fuses in spot #11.
I looked for info on this forum and found some instructions from Brian Carlton.
I am not comfortable with electrical problems and not sure if I have the multimeter set properly. see photo's attached. also, look at the left copper blade where the fuse is supposed to be. It has gotten pretty hot and has changed color! What does that indicate? Also, you can see the blown fuse, the blue plastic actually melted under that sides contact point.
I turned the ignition key to the 2nd position and tried to take a reading at the fuse position. Got a reading of 48.6 with red and black probe as seen in photo. I reversed the probes and i think the reading was 17.2... not sure what that means and i am feeling like i am not testing it properly. any advice on testing would be appreciated.
I put a new blower in over a year ago and did some solder work on the climate control boards soon after that, so i don't think they are problem points...
