Free Engine & Trans 1982 300d
Free to good, bad or otherwise home....
I bought a 1982 300D with an engine that wouldn't start that had sat idle for over a year. It would turn over and act like it wanted to start but just wouldn't kick over. I found another engine / transmission and swapped them. So the original engine / transmission is available FREE to anyone that wants it. Here's what I know about it: Nothing really. I think I checked the compression and it was fine. I thought the problem was the injection pump and couldn't locate one for a reasonable price then I found the set I put in it. All accessories are still attached to the engine. I only removed the motor mounts. The injectors are lose from checking compression several months ago and the injection lines are not attached to the injectors. Alternator, AC compressor, turbo, injection pump etc are all still attached. Sorry, I don't remember what the compression readings were. It is back in the box my replacement engine / transmission was shipped to me in. It's free to the first person that takes it. You just have the pay for and make all arrangements for shipping or come load it in your truck, but you'll have to bring something to load it with. If you have never shipped anything via truck before, I'd recommend www.freightquote.com they've given me much better rates than I got quoted by the truck lines directly. The transmission is still attached as well. I even left the chain on it I lifted it with. The crate, ready for pickup is located in Mountain Home Arkansas zip code 72653. Pictures can be seen at http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/benzrules/lst?.dir=/Engine If interested, reply to ledington@cox-internet.com If nobody wants it, it goes to the junk yard as I'm moving and won't be taking it with me. later, Larry E. |

Bill,
I figured someone here may be interested. So I did the old copy & paste from the news group ad I saw. Hope I didn't give you too much competition in getting a hold of it. DZLPWR |

Larry:
If you don't mind my asking - who did you buy your replacement engine from, is it rebuilt or used (if used was it checked out and how long a warranty), and how much did you pay for it? Thanks, Tom

Your going to have to email Larry directly. He's not here. I copied his ad off the news group. His email is listed above. |
