Think so. Dont know what is in it now. 2500 rpm at 120kph, almost never get past the tc stall driving in the city. Sits at 2200rpm up through all gears unless I am heavy on the throttle or accelerate past the tc stall. Get fantastic mileage on the highway. Alda delete, run tires at 40psi, egr delete, bowden set tight, all air deflector panels in place. No junk in the trunk. Willing to give up the highway mileage though as half of my trips are up and down hills. I try to go out of my way to take the highway as it useless otherwise.

Had the car for two years now, almost have it mechanicaly sorted out, the gearing has been bothering me for some time and it is coming up on tge to do list.

It doesn't matter if you know what you're doing, as long as you look like you know what you're doing.

Oh yeah, Hamilton Hill

I think you have put in your diesel taller gears than I have in my gas 4.3 V8... I usually see tacho around 3000 RPM for... I guess 140 km/h ish.

Maybe mess with the turbo and fuel injection so you can possibly climb Centennial pkwy or whatever.

Sit at 2200, you mean you are in stall zone the whole way? And... maybe more impressive (for me at least), you have 617 and working tachometer?!

Here is your solution:

Slow to 110 Kph for hills. Drop the trans into 3rd gear. The engine will turn a comfortable 3500 rpm up the hill. At the top, shift up to 4th and accelerate to 120Kph.

Much less costly than changing the diff back to a 2.88 (which will probably drop the highway fuel economy).
